Where ordinary moments open into grace.

The Site

Welcome to the home of Shared Tomatoes, where a book—Shared Tomatoes: Stories of Generosity, Healings, and the Sacred Ordinary—was shaped from small, ordinary moments that revealed themselves as holy ground. These stories have been gathered slowly, over years of noticing how grace slips quietly into everyday life. What began as simple reflections shared with loved ones and fellow travelers has grown into a tapestry of memory, healing, vocation, and unexpected joy—woven together with the hope that readers might recognize something of their own lives within these pages.

This space extends the spirit of the book: a gentle place to pause, to reflect, and to remember the gifts hidden in plain sight. Here you are invited to linger with the stories, follow along with the book’s unfolding journey, and discover the inspiration and contemplative heart that shaped the writing. Whether you come seeking encouragement, connection, or simply a moment of quiet, you are welcome here.

Within these pages you’ll find:
· The stories and themes that anchor each chapter
· Updates as the book moves toward publication
· New reflections written along the way
· The author’s background and the inspiration behind the work

The Book

Shared Tomatoes is a collection of true stories rooted in the places where ordinary life brushes against the holy. Simple moments—a neighbor’s kindness, a family ritual, a backyard garden, a quiet act of courage—open into something deeper as Tim George follows the gentle threads that bind us to one another and reveal what it means to be human.

These stories arise from years of listening: as a physician accompanying people through vulnerable seasons, as a spiritual director noticing grace in quiet ways, and as a husband, father, and friend attentive to the sacred ordinary unfolding in daily life. Each chapter explores a facet of that ordinary sacred—generosity, healing, memory, vocation, resilience, presence, and the creativity found in the work of our hands.

Taken together, these stories invite the reader to slow down, breathe, and notice. They offer a reminder that grace often arrives quietly, hidden in the small gifts and everyday encounters that shape us.

The Author

Tim George is a storyteller shaped by years of listening—first as a physician, then as a spiritual director, and always as a husband, father, and friend. His writing grows from the quiet places where the ordinary becomes sacred: a shared tomato harvest, a familiar family rhythm, a small kindness offered at just the right time. Over time he discovered that these unadorned moments often held the deepest truths, revealing the character of others and the contours of his own heart.

After decades practicing medical oncology, Tim realized that the stories that stayed with him were less about illness and more about the depth and dignity of people’s lives. Paying attention became a way of honoring those he encountered—family, patients, friends, and strangers—and a practice of noticing grace in the everyday. Shared Tomatoes emerged from this slow, attentive way of seeing and from the desire to invite others into a gentler, more grounded way of living.
